Last season’s NL Rookie of the Year, Hanley Ramirez, is dominating again this season. He has played in 18 games so far this season and he’s 26 for 71 (.366 avg, 1.084 OPS) with 22 runs scored, 3 homers, 6 RBIs and 6 stolen bases. The Marlins are still leading Ramirez off for now, but they should look into batting him third, right in front of Miguel Cabrera to see what kind of damage he could do.
Cody Ross is getting a lot of playing time due to injuries in the Marlins’ outfield and he’s responding big-time. He has played in 14 games so far this season and he’s 14 for 43 (.326 avg, 1.021 OPS) with 10 runs scored, 3 homers and 12 RBIs. If he keeps hitting like this the Marlins will have no choice but to keep giving Ross a lot of playing time this season.
